It has been said that timing is everything. As is said in Ecclesiastes 3:4, “to every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” I have found this to be true.
Recently I sold the business I was running that my parents created, sold the house I grew up in—in which I had been living, and moved my residence to a new state and new town. I had lived in my birth state for nearly 67 years. Being a “native” (in the sense of being born there) was part of my identity. Running that family business supported me and provided a sense of purpose and identity. I liked the mega-city where I was living and had friends and family there. Letting all that go was a big change.
