Thought Bite: The Yoga of Emotions

Every experience, those that are uncomfortable as well as those that are enjoyable, provide opportunities to learn to be more peaceful in life. If we exert the effort to remain awake and aware of our emotional reactions in the midst of whatever experiences come to us, we will learn. If I find myself becoming agitated by a circumstance, I can learn to be less agitated. If I find myself becoming attached to an experience, I can relax my grip a bit. Learning to be more at peace in this way is a long-term project, and every infinitesimal bit of progress is golden.
