Master, at what time should I meditate? How many times a day should I meditate? How long should I meditate? What is the correct method for meditaiting?
The Master replies:
Friend, I have a few questions of my own. Here they are:
I am a grandfather of lovely grandchildren. At what time of the day should I love them? How many times a day should I hold them in my lap? How long should I hold them in my hug? What is the correct technique for hugging a grandchild?
Again, I live in a lovely house by a sweet beautiful river. What time of the day should I look out of my window to look at the river and be soothed? How many times a day should I part the curtains to see the river? For how many minutes is it recommended to gaze at the river each time? Is there some special method for me to enjoy that soothing view?
Yet again, I am told I should take regular walks in the rose garden near my home. Please help me to sort out these doubts. At what time should I go for a walk? How many times should I go? During each walk, should I halt by some of the roses or not? How long should I stay by each rose? Should I be trying to concentrate on the sweet smell or on the dewdrops on the petals?
One more question. I know one should always smile. But I have always had this confusion. Please help me with some answers. At what time of the day should I smile? How many times a day ? For how long should I smile each time? Please train me in correct type of smile? How many centimetres should i stretch my lips and how many centimetres should I part them? What part of my teeth should actually show? I want to do it right; please teach me the correct technique for smiling and I will smile accordingly.
Do my four questions answer your one question?
Meditaiton is your lovingness of your self ( atman), for divinity and for all living beings. Love God as mother Yashoda loves Krishna. Love God as Mother Maria loves the infant Yeshu.
Meditation is the scenic quiet stream passing right through your home.. Meditation is your fragrant rose garden.
Meditation is the smile of your mind.
Let your mind smile away without calculation. Let your mind smile away.
