I was taking an evening walk along the river and across the bridge at the dam when it happened. He was obviously a gunda, a thug. As I walked along the bridge, he started crossing the road to intercept me.

It was 10:00 P.M., and I was fading. Sitting in a meditative posture, I was doing my best to stay awake and listen to the words being spoken by Swami Veda Bharati, my meditation teacher, but my head kept drooping forward.

There is a principle about all your angers and emotions and sadnesses and depressions. I'd like you to remember that principle. That it's seldom about the object present. You think you are being angry with your husband, or with your teacher at school, or with a professor, or with your boss, or an employee, or a friend, the daughter, son, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law.
