January/February 2009
Welcome to 2009 and to a new issue of Himalayan Dawn.
In nature, Winter often signals a movement of energy to the inner dimension of darkness, silence and stillness that prepares life for renewed activity later. Meditation is similar, allowing deep rest out of which renewed life and creativity can burst forth at the proper time.
This issue contains readings on a variety of yoga topics. In "America's Romance with Indian Spirituality", Swami Veda Bharati narrates the long relationship between East and West up to the current day; Riccardo Valdattero tells of his experience of yoga as a person with cerebral palsy; and Randall Krause invites us to join him on a serene ride along a river. Finally, Swami Nityamuktananda paints a word picture of how Goddess and God are One.
You'll also find information about wonderful upcoming events in Los Angeles and India, and an invitation to experience a personal yoga consultation with our Director, Randall Krause.
We invite you to visit our website at www.hymla.com, for readings, inspiration, and a calendar of classes and events in Los Angeles and the surrounding area.
Happy New Year!
